This study traces the history and the construction of the Colt Dragoon supplied in 1848 to the US Cavalry. By studying serial numbers and minor style changes, the authors have produced a chronology for the revolver which set Samuel Colt on the road to financial success and debunked the theory of a 'Fluck Model' Dragoon. 28pp.
